David Burgess
My Story
David is a D.C. Everest graduate, and joining CTI feels like coming full circle, bringing his career back to the community that raised him. After several years practicing in Oregon, he moved home with his family because this is where he wants to build something meaningful. He became a physical therapist because he believes your body should help you do the things that make life worth living, whether that's competing on the field, riding your bike, hiking Rib Mountain, drawing a bow, working in the garden, or keeping up with your grandkids.
David is currently completing an Evidence in Motion Sports Physical Therapy Residency as he works toward board certification as a Sports Certified Specialist (SCS), an advanced certification held by roughly 1% of physical therapists nationwide. His approach is highly individualized. Rather than treating a diagnosis or following a one-size-fits-all protocol, he takes the time to understand what you want your body to be capable of and builds a plan around those demands, using tools like strength and conditioning, manual therapy, dry needling, spinal manipulation, blood flow restriction, and electrical stimulation along the way. His work with youth athletes is especially meaningful to him, but he enjoys working with anyone who wants to stay active, recover from an injury, or push what they're capable of.
Outside of the clinic, David is an outdoorsman through and through. Mountain biking, rock climbing, backpacking, paddling, hunting, skiing, and soccer keep him active and give him firsthand experience with the demands, setbacks, and rewards that come with an active life. He brings that perspective into every session, because he doesn't just want you to feel better. He wants to help you get back to the life you want to live.
